US National Grid Invests $10.4m in Haverhill LNG Site

July 23, 2026 [Tank Storage Magazine]- The US National Grid is investing $10.4 million (€9.1 million) in its LNG tank storage site in Haverhill, Massachusetts, US.

 

The current site stores up to 5 million gallons of LNG, with the site upgrading including a 5,900sqft building, security fencing, new gates and stormwater management.

National Grid spokesman Robert Kievra commented, ‘The new control building will provide operators with modern monitoring, communications, cybersecurity and reliability tools designed to support safe, efficient operations and strengthen long-term system resilience. [The LNG site is] a critical backup energy resource that helps ensure reliable natural gas service for approximately 36,000 customers.’
