12.09.2015 - NEWS

December 9, 2015 [PortNews IAA] - According to IAA PortNews correspondent, this was announced by Aleksei Tyukavin, First Vice-Governor of the Murmansk Region, at the V International  Forum “Arctic: Today And The Future”.

The new ship will secure exports of Gazprom Neft’s oil from Novoportovskoye field.

Aleksei Tyukavin also said the regional government thinks it would be more environmentally safe to shift oil transshipment from offshore facilities to specialized onshore terminals. Such terminals could be built, for example, within the framework of Murmansk Transport Hub project.

According to Marinet, UMBA (earlier known as SASA) was registered with Russian Maritime Register of Shipping on October 1, 2015. Place of registration – Murmansk. Former place of registration – Panama Canal. Vessel’s deadweight – 300,259 t, number of cargo tanks – 17.
