In a statement on Tuesday, the company said the Port of Fujairah had awarded it an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract “to build top side facilities at Oil Terminal Two”.
“Our long-term strategy in Fujairah is closely linked with our strong partnerships with the Port of Fujairah and the Emirate as a whole,” said B.S. Motwani, Deputy General Manager of Topaz’s onshore fabrication business.
“Our significant investments over the years have paid dividends and this contract signing is the latest in a string of contract awards.”
The company statement spoke of the “massive development of the oil bunkering business in and around the Port of Fujairah”.
It went on: “This additional berthing capacity will boost the regional oil trading business….. With the latest technologies in place, Oil Terminal Two in the Port of Fujairah will be one of the prime facilities on the East Coast of the Emirates.”
Topaz Energy and Marine has been awarded the contract through its subsidiary Nico International.
The Topaz statement added that its new onshore fabrication facility in Fujairah would help it capture “a major share of Fujairah’s storage terminal construction market”.
Topaz Energy and Marine is a leading marine services and oil and gas sector fabrication companies with long experience in the Middle East.
It has already been involved in the construction of berths at the Vopak Horizon Fujairah terminal, which is one of two large-scale storage operations being developed in the UAE port.
