December 1, 2016 [PortNews IAA] - Russia’s Glavgosexpertiza (state expert evaluation authority) says it has approved Phase I of a facility for transshipment of liquid chemicals at the liquid bulk cargo berth of port Temryuk.

The berth is intended for accepting, accumulation and shipment of liquid chemicals, crude and oil product by water transport.

The project foresees the construction of technological buildings and structures for accepting and shipment of liquid chemicals, crude and oil product. The cargo will be delivered round-the-clock by rail and road transport as well as by sea going and river going vessels.

For that purpose the project provides for construction of berth and onshore grounds and all the required infrastructure including loading/discharge racks for railcars and road tanks, and a tank farm. Phase I of the transshipment facility will be able to handle 500,000 t per year.

Port of Temryuk is located on the Taman seashore of the Azov Sea. The port has 19 berths (total length of almost 2,380 lm) are for handling general cargoes, round timber, lumber, food products, metals and oversized cargoes. The terminals’ annual capacity is 8.7 million tonnes. The Port of Temryuk can accommodate 4.6-meter draft vessels of up to 140 m in length and up to 17.5 m in breadth.
