May 10, 2021 [Endress+Hauser] – Terminal operators strive to increase their terminal’s throughput by reducing downtime, maintenance and energy costs; while also trying to optimize supply chain and minimize for unaccounted losses.

Safe operations and ensuring asset, personnel and environmental safety is the foundation for operational excellence. Endress+Hauser, a global leading company with more than 65 years’ experience in process automation, can assist terminal operators with improving their processes and terminal safety.

When considering truck or railcar loading or offloading, certified custody transfer metering systems, are often the best option. Endress+Hauser has designed, fabricated and put into operation hundreds of truck and railcar metering skids around the world utilizing Endress+Hauser Promass Coriolis flow meter.

Coriolis meters used in custody transfer metering applications offer several advantages over traditional mechanical meters including lower pressure drop, less maintenance, performance self-diagnostic features, direct density measurement, improved long-term stability and many others.
Integrating the skid mounted temperature transmitter with the batch controller allows for quantity calculations and transactions to take place in either mass or volume-based measurement. Because of the low-pressure loss the Promass Coriolis meter can operate with higher flow rates which results in faster loading/offloading times and less energy consumption compared to traditional meters.

The embedded Heartbeat technology provides online flowmeter verification in accordance to IEC 61511-1. In addition, diagnostics according to Namur NE 107 and advanced predictive maintenance features optimize maintenance planning and re-calibration intervals, while absence of moving mechanical parts eliminate wear and tear.

The broad connectivity options, open and standardized interfaces allows smooth integration with Endress+Hauser Terminal Management s/w, Terminalvision, or your existing Terminal Management Systems and take full advantage of Endress+Hauser Netilion IIoT ecosystem.

Endress+Hauser has designed standardized Metering Skids for truck and railcar applications that cover all your terminal operational needs. Additionally, customized designs are also available to fulfill any specific terminal requirement. With a global network of metering experts and local support, Endress+Hauser provides professional project management and engineering services throughout the complete project execution phase, while helping operators to reduce operational expenses and optimize asset life cycle management.
