Throughput of Port Tallinn (Estonia) down 21.1% to 13.7 M t in 7M’15

August 12, 2015 [PortNews IAA] - In January-July 2015, the Port of Tallinn (Estonia) handled 13.7 mln t of cargo (-21.1%, year-on-year).


According to the Port Authorities, container throughput dropped by 22.4% to 119,932 TEUs, transshipment of liquid bulk cargo fell 31.7% to 8.2 mln t, loose bulk cargo – up 7.4% to 1.58 mln t,  consolidated cargo – down 0.8% to 367,300 t.

Passenger traffic climbed by 1% to 5,742,800 people. The number of calls increased by 2.6% to 4,149 vessels.

Port of Tallinn ranks fourth largest seaport, next to St. Petersburg, Primorsk and Ust-Luga, on the Baltic Sea. The Port comprises five so-called port zones: Muuga, Old City Harbor, Paljassaare, Paldiski South and Saaremaa. In 2014 throughput at Tallinn port totaled 28.32 million tonnes.
