Swedish engineering outfit Sweco has bagged a €1 million ($1.4 million) job advising India on the planning and construction of an underground crude storage site.

India is pursuing a national strategic storage project in which a number of crude oil storage facilities will be built throughout the country with a total storage capacity of 5 million tonnes.
Sweco said the facility it has been commissioned to plan is in Padur on the west coast of India, in Karnataka province.
The contract was awarded by state-owned Engineers India Ltd (EIL) and the €1 million value covers the first stage of work, Sweco said.
Sweco will carry out the assignment in collaboration with Skanska Teknik and Midroc Engineering.
