01.17.2009 - NEWS
Mott MacDonald has been appointed by Gulf Petrochem FZC, UAE to provide consultancy services for engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services on an oil storage terminal project in Fujairah, located in the east coast of UAE.

Valued at over US$100 million, the storage development is being introduced to help facilitate trading in petroleum products and to meet the substantial demand for bunker fuel used by oil tankers which anchor off Fujairah, one of the world’s major tanker bunkering ports.
Mott MacDonald’s team of oil and gas professionals will provide conceptual design, cost consultancy and feasibility assessments, engineering services as well as assistance with tendering and construction management.
The multi product oil storage terminal will enable blending and transhipment of different petroleum products and provide import and export facilities at the adjacent Port of Fujairah Oil Tanker Berths. The total storage capacity is to be nearly half a million m3 of Class 1, 2 & 3 petroleum products*. Provisions in the site designs are being made to allow for future storage expansion and construction of a new bio-diesel plant.
Sam Mathew, Mott MacDonald’s project director said:
‘We are delighted to be awarded this prestigious contract which follows successful completion of a consultancy commission for Gulf Petrochem last year. A long term approach is being considered in the designs and of particular interest is that a bulk blending facility for producing unleaded gasoline and different grades of fuel oils is to be included in the design.’
