December 29, 2010 [CNR/PortStorage Group] - On the 8th of December, the preliminary design for Shihua's Crude Oil Terminal phase II  in Daxie port area of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port has passed the review by Ministry of Transport. This means the construction of China's biggest crude oil terminal has entered into the stage of actual implementation.

Shihua Crude Oil Terminal is located east side of Daxie Island, Ningbo. The construction will include a 450,000DWT jetty and supporting facilities. The designed throughput is 18 million tons per year. The jetty is 490m in length. The jetty plan has a “butterfly” layout and a structure of high piles. The total investment is about RMB 190 million.

The construction of Shihua Phase II crude oil terminal at Daxie shall further improve the crude transportation system at Yantze River Delta region, strengthen the role of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, accommodate China’s increasing need for crude and growing size of international ships, and effectively reduce transportation costs.
