On the left bank of Roeselare-Leie canal, the Belgian Waterway Authorities are building a new quay wall for the new Unitank G&V terminal. The terminal will be built for the storage of strategic fuel stocks for the West-Flanders region. The new mooring facility, built between Schaapsbrug Bridge and the bridge of E403 road will have the length of 171m.

Meanwhile, the company G&V has already begun with the construction of the tank terminal itself. The terminal will have 12 tanks in total, nine of which will have a capacity of 30.500 m³ for storage of diesel and heating oil. In addition, there will be three smaller tanks of 4.314 m³ each. Besides diesel, also gasoline will be stored. The terminal will be built in two phases. In the first phase, that started already in September, three large and three smaller tanks will be constructed. The main client of the terminal will be Belgian strategic stocks agency APETRA.
