June 10, 2015 [Reuters] - Indonesia's plan for a 30-day fuel and oil emergency reserve buffer is expected to require up to $24 billion in investment, an energy ministry official said on Wednesday.
“We expect the investment required for the buffer storage will be $17-$24 billion,” Oil and Gas Director General Wiratmaja Puja told reporters, adding that that included the cost of developing the facilities and the fuel and crude to fill them.
Last month the state energy firm Pertamina announced plans to build a fuel depot in Jakarta, as part of a programme to increase national fuel reserves to ensure 30 days of supply, up from around 18 days at present.
