November 25, 2010 [CLH] - Compañía Logística de Hidrocarburos has invested over 30 million euros in buildinga new oil product storage facility for the company in the town of Arahal (Seville).
This new facility has 6 tanks for storing gasoline, diesel oil and aviation kerosene withtheir ancillary installations, as well as connections to the Rota – Zaragoza and Huelva- Arahal pipelines.
This storage centre has a total capacity of over 184,000 cubic metres and combinesa high level of automation in its operating processes with maximum guarantees ofsafety and respect for the environment. This capacity is basically intended for use instoring part of the country’s strategic fuel reserves.
The new facility is designed with a view to guaranteeing safety and minimising anyimpact on the environment. This is achieved with the use of various preventionsystems that include: a rainwater collection network that is separate from thehydrocarbon-polluted water network; a water treatment system; watertightenclosures; safety distances between the tanks and tanks fitted with floating screensand anti-spill systems.
This facility complements the infrastructure already present in Arahal, which is animportant logistics hub where the Rota -Zaragoza and Huelva – Arahal pipelinesmeet, and where the Arahal – Malaga and Arahal – Almodóvar pipelines originate.
Compañía Logística de Hidrocarburos CLH is the leading company in the Spanishmarket for transportation and storage of oil products, with a pipeline network over4,000 kilometres long and 37 storage facilities, with a total capacity of 7.2 million cubic metres, as well as 29 airport facilities.
The CLH Group has another eight storage facilities in Andalusia, which are located in Cordoba, Seville, Huelva, Rota, Algeciras, San Roque, Malaga and Motril.
The pipeline network the company has in Andalusia is 870 kilometres long. Thisnetwork is also connected to the two refineries that operate in this autonomousregion, and one of its main branches forms part of the Rota – Zaragoza pipeline which crosses the Iberian Peninsula diagonally and guarantees oil product supply tothe centre of the country.

This latterairport is fitted with a modern network of hydrants beneath the airport’s apron,enabling aircraft to refuel without the need to use tank vehicles.
