12.23.2010 - NEWS

December 22, 2010 [CLH] - The aim of the exhibition is to bring the company's image closer to the public at  large and promote general knowledge about oil logistics

Yesterday, the Councillor of Town Planning at Arahal Town Council, Manuel Bravo, accompanied by Javier del  Nido, the CLH Group´s Pipeline Exploitation Deputy Manager, and Francisco Romero, Manager of the storage facility in this town, opened the “CLH, We Move Energy” travelling exhibition which the company has launched in order to make its activities known in the towns where it operates some kind of infrastructure, besides encouraging free-flowing, transparent dialogue with their main interest groups.
Entry to the exhibition is free of charge and it is open to anyone who would like to know more about the logistics activities carried out by the CLH Group. Also with the aim of promoting general  knowledge about oil logistics  among the public at large, visits have been arranged with groups of students from nearby teaching centres. The display is installed in a specially  adapted bus in which the visitor will find information panels, touch screens and a lecture room where a teacher will explain, in an enjoyable, educational way, the main activities performed by the company.
Between December 2010 and February 2011, the “CLH, We Move Energy” campaign will be visiting around 20 towns, where the company has some kind of infrastructure, in the autonomous regions of Castile and León, Extremadura, Andalusia, Castile-La Mancha and Madrid.

CLH in Arahal

The CLH Group has opened a storage facility  in Arahal which has 6 tanks with a storage capacity of around 184,000 cubic metres, that are mainly devoted to storing part of the country’s strategic fuel reserves. This plant has been designed with a view to guaranteeing safety and minimizing any impact on the environment, and has therefore been fitted with the most advanced safety and prevention systems.

Fuel supply in Andalusia

In addition to the facility in Arahal, the CLH Group has eight storage plants in Andalusia, which are located in Seville, Huelva, Algeciras, Cordoba, Rota, San Roque, Motril and Malaga. The pipeline network owned and operated by the company in this autonomous region is the  most extensive in Spain and is 870.5 kilometres long.

This network is also connected to the two refineries that operate in Andalusia and one of its main branch lines forms part of the Rota-Zaragoza pipeline, which crosses the Iberian Peninsula diagonally and guarantees oil product supply to central Spain.

Through its subsidiary CLH Aviación, the CLH Group is also present at Seville, Cordoba, Jerez, Almería and Malaga airports. Malaga airport is fitted with a modern hydrant network that runs  beneath the airport apron, meaning that aircraft can be refuelled without the need to use tanker vehicles.

Compañía Logística de Hidrocarburos CLH is the leading company in the Spanish market for the transportation and storage of oil products, with a pipeline network over 4,000 kilometres long and 37 storage facilities, with a total capacity of 7.2 cubic metres, as well as 29 airport facilities.
