July 9, 2010 [HES Beheer] - Botlek Tank Terminal (BTT) and the Port of Rotterdam have signed today a lease agreement that will allow BTT to develop the second phase of their terminal. This will add another 350,000 m³ capacity.

Under this agreement the Port of Rotterdam agrees to fill part of the Botlek dock thus creating 4 ha of land. The lease agreement is for a period of 25 years with an option for another 25 years.

With the completion of phase 2, in 2014, BTT will avail of 550,000 m³ storage capacity for, amongst others, petroleum products, ethanol, (bio)diesel and vegetable oils.

The construction of phase 1 (200,000 m³) is currently underway and on schedule for completion in Q4 2011.

The expansion of BTT supports the policy of HES Beheer to develop liquid storage as an important second line of business for HES, next to dry bulk.
