Abengoa Bioenergy Trading US Leases Storage Terminal in Houston

October 21, 2010 [Abengoa Bioenergy] - The company has leased a 62,000-barrel (2.6 million-gallon) storage capacity in Kinder Morgan’s Galena Park.

Situated in the Houston navigation channel, this terminal allows loading and unloading from trains, trucks, barges and vessels.

The terminal is an integral part of Abengoa Bioenergy’s international trading operations platform and offers access to international waters, which permits the company to import and export from the United States, and complements Bioenergy’s bases in two other large international ports, Rotterdam, in Europe, and Santos, in Brazil.

This international water access is key to the developing the strategic plan, as the new regulations on GHG emission reduction and sustainability, which will come into force at the end of 2010 in Europe and California, will lead to specialized products and will create opportunities for arbitration all over the world.
