Swaziland's First Storage Terminal Groundbreaking

October 25, 2013 [Petroleum Africa] - King Mswati III did the official groundbreaking deed for the first liquid bulk storage and throughput terminal in Swaziland on October 18th, 2013.


Witnessed by 5,000 spectators King Mswati III of Swaziland did the official groundbreaking deed.

Supply Services of Swaziland (S3) has entered into an arrangement with American Tank & Vessel to promote energy independence by building a strategic petroleum reserve for Swaziland. This project is the first step in a larger economic development program designed to encourage investment in several key industries including: telecommunications, healthcare, infrastructure, education, agricultural processing, and others.

The terminal will be located in Phuzomoya, the center of Swaziland next to the railway connecting Swaziland with South Africa and Mozambique. After the first phase of 90,000 cubic meters the terminal will have huge expansion possibilities. In his speech the King has mentioning that after the completion of the terminal, which will carry the Kings name, an important economic milestone will be accomplished for the Kingdom of Swaziland.
