Expansion of TEAS Terminal in Santos, Brazil

May 25, 2012 [TEAS] - Terminal Exportador de Álcool de Santos S.A., TEAS, is expanding its facilities. Storage capacity will be doubled up as well as its operational performance.


Terminal Exportador de Álcool de Santos (TEAS), located in the right bank of the Port of Santos, at the district of Alemoa, is a modern multimodal facility for liquid bulks handling, focusing ethanol. It islocated inside of the Terminal Intermodal de Santos (TIS) and it has access by road, rail and vessel.

TEAS is formed by the association of Raízen and Cargill and it has Ultracargo as cargo and port operator. It is a specialized terminal that provides the following services: reception and delivery by truck, reception by train (the most modern facility of this type in the port), storage, handling and loading and discharge of vessels.

Throughout its existence TEAS invests to improve its processes, its procedures and its infrastructure in order to make terminal capable to offer better service level to its customers. The services provided by TEAS respect the labor safety, the cargo integrity, the reduction of operational time and faster vessels operations, which contributes to add quality and value to the products handled at the terminal.

TEAS offers to its customers a scheduling system for cargo delivering by road modal. Through this tool, the customer is able to schedule its trucks according to its convenience. The transport process is prioritized and it is avoided the formation of waiting lines at the terminal.

TEAS is expanding its facilities. Storage capacity will be doubled up to the total of 80,000 cbm, aswell as its operational performance. New and modern trucks loading and discharge platforms will be provided, fitted to serve the handling of different products. Also, the actual storage and handling systems will be revised and upgraded. The expansion´s project was conceived to bring forward flexibility and efficiency, improving the operational system and expediting all logistics process.
