SemCrude Expanding Crude Gathering Capacity at Colorado
11.16.2011 - NEWS

November 15, 2011 [OPIS] - SemCrude, a subsidiary of SemGroup Corporation, said late on Monday that the company will expand its Platteville, Colo., truck unloading terminal as part of an agreement with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.

The expansion of the Platteville unloading terminal will increase capacity by up to 60%, and is designed to support Anadarko’s anticipated increase in production in the region.

The Platteville Terminal, located northeast of Denver, is the origination point of the White Cliffs Pipeline, a 526-mile, 12-inch crude oil pipeline terminating in Cushing, Okla. Crude oil from the Denver-Julesberg basin is currently delivered to SemCrude’s Platteville Terminal via transport trucks and unloaded through 10 existing truck bays.

This expansion is expected to be complete by the end of 2012.   White Cliffs Pipeline is the only pipeline that directly moves crude oil out of the DJ Basin to the Cushing market and ultimately to refiners in the Midcontinent area.   The pipeline’s initial design capacity was approximately 30,000 b/d of crude oil, which has been expanded to 70,000 b/d.
