November 3, 2011 [Reuters] - Ivory Coast plans to build a natural gas pipeline linking the north of the country with the commercial capital Abidjan and construct a large oil and gas storage facility, the director general of its state oil company Petroci said.

Daniel Gnangni said in a presentation to the Africa Upstream conference on Thursday that the projects were opportunities for outside investors.

He also said the country currently had 19 licenced offshore blocks but had 30 hydrocarbons blocks open, both onshore and offshore.

Gnangni said about 70 percent of Ivory Coast’s 87,000 sq km of offshore acreage remained unexplored.
