PetroChina To Put Qinzhou Refinery and Storage Terminal Into Operations

May 19, 2010 [CapitalVue] -PetroChina will put its Qinzhou refinery into operations on June 29, reports China Securities Journal. The daily production capacity of the refinery during its trial operation is expected to hit 200,000 barrels.

Qinzhou refinery currently has inventory of one million tons of crude oil from Sudan. By the end of June, the company will add a storage terminal with capacity of one million cubic meters. In addition, PetroChina plans to expand the navigation channel and a oil terminal for Qinzhou Refinery.

PetroChina is currently applying for approval to expand the second phase of its Guangxi petrochemical projects, including 10 million tons of refined oil, one million tons of aromatics, a crude oil storage terminal with capacity of three million tons and a refined oil storage terminal with capacity of one million tons.

The Guangxi petrochemical project will have total capacity of 10 million tons of refined oil and cost a total of 15.3 billion yuan.
