February 11, 2010 [Tank Storage Magazine] - Italian storage terminal operator Decal’s Panama unit is doubling storage and barge loading capacity at its Taboguilla Island bunkering terminal.

The terminal, which currently has 175,000 m³ capacity, will be expanded with 181,500 m³ of additional capacity, totalling 356,500 m³. Work on the terminal expansion began in last month.
The terminal’s existing pier will also be extended to enable four barges to load simultaneously. At the terminal new available flow rates will allow barges loading speeds of up to 750 m³ per hour (m³/h) for intermediate fuel oil (IFO) grades and 300 m³/h for marine distillate grades. It will be able to undertake product blending in all tanks and/or in line.
Decal manages coastal terminals for oil and chemical products and gas for third parties in Italy, Spain, Panama, Russia and Brazil.
Total capacity of the terminals managed by Decal at present is over 1.5 million m³.
