The port of Delfzijl ( in the North of The Netherlands) wil have a new tankterminal in 2009. JPB Logistics will invest 25 mln eur in a new tankterminal for bulk storage of liquids. The teminal has capability to load/discharge products by ship, barge, truck and rail. Jos Wildeman, director of JPB Logistics stated that 15 % of the chemicals produced in the Netherlands is manufactured in Delfzijl and Delfzijl has enough land for further expansion unlike for example Rotterdam. Also the port of Delfzijl is well positioned to for logistiocs to/from North and Eastern Europe.
The first phase of the terminal will be completed in Q1 2009, the expected total capacity of the terminal will be 250.000 m3 with a total investment of 25 mln euro. First customer of JPB Logistics is BioMCN that will store their feedstocks.
