July 28, 2026 [Storage Terminals Magazine]- MT Group has been awarded a significant contract to deliver Balance of Plant (BoP) infrastructure for the German LNG Terminal — one of Germany’s most important energy infrastructure projects.

Developed by German LNG Terminal GmbH, the facility will be the country’s first land-based LNG import terminal, built to bolster Germany’s long-term energy security and resilience. The project is being carried out by the Grupo Cobra (Cobra IS) / Sener consortium, with Gasunie and RWE ranking among the key stakeholders driving this landmark development forward.

This contract marks one of MT Group’s largest undertakings in Germany to date, reinforcing the company’s foothold in one of Europe’s key energy infrastructure markets.

Built to reinforce energy security both in Germany and across Europe, the terminal is designed for a regasification capacity of up to 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year.

To put that scale into perspective for readers in the Baltic region: the terminal’s regasification capacity will be roughly three times that of the Klaipėda LNG Terminal.
