September 15, 2022 [Shana] – The capacity of crude oil storage in the Persian Gulf increased by 500,000 barrels with the operation of the reconstruction and overhaul project of Tank No. 4 of the Behrgan region of Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC).

According to IOOC, the reconstruction and overhaul project of Behregan Tank No. 4 was put into operation in the presence of Alireza Mehdizadeh, CEO of IOOC, and a number of directors, heads and employees of the company on Thursday.

During a meeting held for launching the project, the IOOC CEO said that most of the items used in the project were supplied by domestic manufacturers, adding the project took about 3 years to reach fruition.

According to him, with commissioning this tank, the storage capacity of crude oil in Behregan area increased by 10% and considering that Behregan area is a terminal for import and export of crude oil and gas condensate, implementation of this plan has many advantages.

The CEO of IOOC said that the 250,000-barrel tank of Khark region will come online within the next three months, and the tanks No. 5, 6, and 8 in the Behregan region with a total nominal capacity of 1,300,000 barrels are in the process of tendering and selecting a contractor. With these measures, the operational capacity of Iran’s crude oil storage in the Persian Gulf will increase dramatically.
