May 9, 2022 [Manila Standard] – Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. plans to put up another oil import facility this year, bringing its network of import terminals to five, to serve the growing fuel needs of consumers nationwide.

“We are looking at the timeline to have five [import facilities] by 2022,” said PSPC president and chief executive officer Lorelie Quiambao-Osial Friday.

PSPC recently broke ground on its 67-million liter Darong import facility in Southern Mindanao that aims to provide a more stable, undisrupted supply of energy in the region.

The Darong import facility is scheduled to be operational by the third quarter of 2024.

PSPC network of terminals includes the Shell Import Facility Tabangao in Batangas with a 263-million-liter capacity, the North Mindanao Import Facility in Cagayan de Oro City with a 90-million-liter capacity, and the Subic Import Terminal, northwest of the National Capital Region, with a 54-million-liter capacity.
