Zhuoyue New Energy Begins Construction on Thailand Biofuels Complex: Reports

January 22, 2026 [SAF Investor]- China’s Longyan Zhuoyue New Energy subsidiary Zhuoyue New Energy said it broke ground on construction work for the large-scale bioenergy project at the Eastern Industrial Park in Chonburi province.

 

According to reports, the project will be developed in two phases and is designed to produce 300,000 metric tons per year of biodiesel and 100,000 mt/year of hydrotreated vegetable oil and sustainable aviation fuel, utilizing locally sourced used cooking oil and palm fatty acid distillate.

Phase one will focus on the biodiesel line, followed by construction of the HVO/SAF unit, the company said in its official WeChat channel Jan. 19

Earlier in July last year, the company announced plans to invest $97.6m in the site.

he company said it has already registered with Chinese government for offshore investment and received approval from Thailand’s board of investment and secured a lease for the site.

Zhuoyue sold 376,000 tons of biodiesel translating into sales revenue of $462m, accounting for about 93% of its total annual revenue – nearly all of it came from exports.

Earlier in July, Zhuoyue New Energy announced that is expanding its global footprint in a strategic move to circumvent impending anti-dumping duties imposed by the European Union.

The company has unveiled plans to establish biofuel refineries in Saudi Arabia and Singapore, focusing on the production of SAF, HVO and biodiesel for marine applications.
