10.09.2024 By Tank Terminals - NEWS

October 09, 2024 [Tank Storage Magazine]- Worley and Liquid Wind have entered into an agreement to provide design and engineering services for the development of the NorthStarH2 e-methanol facility in ostersund, Sweden.

The facility, which is being developed on behalf of Uniper, aims to produce over 100,000 tonnes of e-methanol annually. The feedstock will help decarbonise shipping and chemical industries.

The focus during pre-FEED (front end engineering design) will be on the balance of plant, which encompasses all supporting systems and infrastructure necessary for the facility’s operation.
Work will be led by Worley’s Nordic team, located at Gothenburg and Copenhagen offices, supported by global hydrogen experts and the company’s global integrated delivery team in India.

Jan Narvestad, senior vice president, Nordics, says: ‘We bring technical competence in the e-methanol space, along with execution capabilities necessary to drive this project from the initial design phase through to the final investment decision and successful construction.’
