Vopak to Construct 15 New Storage Tanks at Its Botlek Terminal
04.29.2018 - NEWS

April 29, 2018 [Tank News International] - Vopak Rotterdam Botlek is investing in 15 state-of-the-art stainless steel tanks comprising 63,000 cbm.

The tanks will be for the storage of Styrene and other hazardous chemicals. Styrene is a vital product used in manufacturing of a wide variety of consumer goods serving markets such as packaging, construction (for example isolation) and automotive.

The new infrastructure will be fully insulated to allow for product temperature control and is designed to prevent any emissions to the environment. The new storage capacity connects seaborne trade flows via barges, block-trains and trucks to the European hinterland.

Tank sizes at Vopak’s Botlek site range from between 500 cbm and 22,475 cbm. The terminals has 14 barge berths and eight for vessels. It also offers heating, dedicated systems, weighing, nitrogen blanketing, and blending services.
