Vitol to Buy Kenya Terminal

December 31, 2009 [Vitol] - Following a competitive tender and evaluation process, Vitol Kenya Ltd confirmed today that it had been awarded the right to purchase a half built products storage terminal in Kipevu, Mombasa, Kenya.

When fully operational, the terminal will have 65,000 m3 of storage available for clean products and will be one of the largest and most modern oil facilities in East Africa.
Mr Ian Taylor, Chief Executive of the Vitol Group, speaking about the award, said “We are pleased with the outcome of this bid process and we look forward to completing the terminal, for the benefit of consumers in Kenya and neighbouring countries, as well as for our customers. The Vitol Group already has a strong portfolio of oil storage terminals and the Mombasa Oil terminal is a welcome addition.”
