Uniper Launches the Sale of its 18.26% Equity Stake in AS Latvijas Gaze

December 11, 2024 [Uniper]- Uniper Ruhrgas International GmbH, an indirectly wholly-owned subsidiary of Uniper SE, intends to sell its 18.26% equity stake in AS Latvijas Gaze in accordance with the European Commission’s state aid approval decision of 20 December 2022. The sale will be conducted via an open, fair and transparent bidding process.

 

AS Latvijas Gaze is a key player in the Baltic energy sector with a history of more than three decades. Further to the sale of its natural gas distribution business in 2023, AS Latvijas Gaze business comprises natural gas trading and sales to consumers in the Baltic region, primarily in Latvia. In 2023 AS Latvijas Gaze revenue was €159.8 million.

The largest shareholders in AS Latvijas Gazes are AS Rietumu Banka (28.97%), Energy Investments LLC (27.85%), Uniper Ruhrgas International GmbH (18.26%), SIA Itera Latvija (16.00%) and UAB Haupas (6.15%).

Interested parties are invited to submit their expression of interest in German or English by email to the contact stated below by no later than 5pm CET on 6 January 2025. The expression of interest should contain the name, address and contact details of the interested party and the responsible persons in relation to the process.

Following receipt of the expressions of interest, interested parties will receive a process letter. The process letter will lay out the requirements for the pre-qualification phase of the process.
