Transneft - Port Kozmino Terminal to Boost its Annual Capacity by 20% to 36 M t in 2017

November 27, 2015 [PortNews IAA] - The terminal of Transneft – Port Kozmino LLC (port Vostochny, Primorsky Territory) is going to boost its annual production capacity by 20% to 36 mln t in 2017, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Sergei Dolgikh, the stevedoring company’s Deputy Director General for commodity-transport operations, as saying at the 10th International Congress ‘Oil Terminal 2015’ in Saint-Petersburg.


According to him, the terminal’s throughput capacity can be boosted through dredging at Berth No 2 and construction of two additional tanks to supplement the existing ten tanks. Upon completion of the dredging works both berths of the company will be able to accommodate tankers of up to 150,000 t in deadweight.

As of today, Berth No 2 can accept vessels with length of up to 250 m, breadth of up to 44 m, draught of up to 14.9 m, deadweight of up to 120,000 t. Berth No 1 available for vessels with length of up to 274.5 m, breadth of up to 48 m, draught of up to 17 m, deadweight of up to 150,000 t.

Transneft – Port Kozmino LLC is a subsidiary of Transneft JSC. Oil-loading terminal of Kozmino is the terminus of the Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean pipeline system (ESPO). The port was built for transshipment of oil delivered by pipeline and railway to sea-going oil tankers. In 2014, the terminal exported 24.9 mln t of ESPO brand crude.
