Trammo and Elengy Sign MoU for Low-Carbon Ammonia Import Terminal Project in France
10.04.2024 By Tank Terminals - NEWS

October 04, 2024 [Tanks and Terminals]- Trammo has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Trammo SAS, its French subsidiary, and Elengy, SA, a LNG company which operates LNG terminals in France, to support Elengy’s Medhyterra project.

The project involves the redevelopment of part of Elengy’s Fos Tonkin LNG terminal site into a low-carbon ammonia import terminal, including the construction of a 30 000 m3 ammonia storage tank. The new terminal will be capable of receiving 200 000 tpy of low-carbon ammonia.

The MoU solidifies the strategic partnership between Trammo and Elengy in support of the project, which will allow Trammo to provide the new terminal with access to the worldwide low-carbon ammonia market and supply customers in France and in Europe.

Trammo SAS President Christophe Savi said: “Both companies have a common interest in supporting the transition to decarbonisation of the ammonia industry, and this partnership furthers Trammo’s goal of making available in the market large volumes of low-carbon ammonia by 2030.”
