Throughput of Port Klaipeda (Lithuania) up 8% to 22.22 M t in HI’2015

August 11, 2015 [PortNews IAA] - In January-July 2015, the port of Klaipeda (Lithuania) handled 22.22 mln t of cargo (+8%, year-on-year), press center of the port authority says. 


In the reported period, the port handed 6.21 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+40.4%), 6.48 mln t of general cargo (-2.1%) and 9.54 mln t of dry bulk cargo (no changes).

In July, the port handled 3.36 mln t (+19.4%, year-on-year).

Klaipeda State Seaport is the northernmost ice–free port on the Eastern coast of the Baltic Sea. It is the most important and biggest Lithuanian transport hub, connecting sea, land and railway routes from East to West. The port’s throughput (including Butinge terminal) made 33.42 mln t in 2013.
