January 5, 2013 [4-traders] - The CLH Group is to invest more than 60 million euros throughout 2013, which will be spent on continuing to expand and improve its infrastructure network.
Around 41 million euros, which is most of the investments for 2013, will be used for improving the company’s storage facilities. The most important part under this heading, 17 million euros, will be devoted to various projects for making safety and environmental improvements. Another significant part, amounting to over 15 million euros, will be spent on projects for operational improvements.
The investments under this heading also include around 4 million euros for completing the first phase of the project for building a new storage facility at the port of Bilbao. Besides this, 2 million euros will be spent on completing the building works for the new facilities in Castellanos de Moriscos (Salamanca), and a further 3 million will be used for expanding the storage capacity at other facilities.
As regards the transportation system, CLH will be investing around 15 million euros on extending its pipeline network. Over 5 million euros of this amount will be spent on continuing with the work for building the line that will connect the storage facility in Torrejón de Ardoz with Madrid-Barajas airport.
On the other hand, CLH will devote over 4.5 million euros to expanding and improving a number of CLH Aviación facilities, in order to strengthen its competitiveness and maintain the leadership of the CLH Group in this activity.
2007-2011 investment plan
During the last six years, the CLH Group has implemented the most ambitious investment plan in its entire history, which amounted to more than 750 million euros and made it possible for 1.2 million cubic metres of new storage capacity to be incorporated and for over 500 kilometres of pipeline to be built.
Among other courses of action, the company brought into service the new storage facilities in Arahal (Seville), Mahón (Minorca) and Burgos, and is currently completing the construction work on the new plants in Castellanos de Moriscos (Salamanca) and Almodóvar del Campo (Ciudad Real).
The CLH Group also expanded storage capacity at several centres, the most important of which were Albuixech (Valencia), Huelva, Leön, Gijón, Son Banya (Palma, Majorca), Navarre, Barcelona, Castellón, Algeciras, Cartagena and Malaga.
Regarding the transportation network, the company duplicated the pipeline that connects the centre of the Peninsula with Zaragoza, and finished work on duplication of the section that runs between Almodóvar del Campo (Ciudad Real) and Arahal (Seville).
In the environmental field, the company adapted its logistics system to accommodate the storage and transportation of biofuels. It also completed work on dismantling and cleaning up the land occupied by the de-commissioned facilities in Valencia, Muskiz (Biscay) and Santurce (Biscay), and started work on environmental recovery of the land in Mahon and Burgos.
Besides this, the new Central Laboratory for product analysis and metrology was opened in San Fernando de Henares (Madrid).
On the other hand, CLH Aviación carried out expansion and improvement works at several airport facilities, such as Alicante, Malaga, Vigo, San Javier, Pamplona and La Rioja. Another of the most outstanding projects was expansion of the aviation fuel distribution network at Barcelona airport, with the building of two new fuel supply lines between the CLH Aviación facility and the new hydrant network in El Prat’s new Terminal 1.
