Technip Energies Selects Gpi Tanks XL for SAF Storage Project
05.28.2026 By Tank Terminals - NEWS

May 28, 2026 [Tank Storage Magazine]- Technip Energies confirmed that Gpi Tanks XL has been awarded the contract to design and construct 22 stainless‑steel storage tanks for SkyNRG’s new sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) facility in Delfzijl, the Netherlands.

The tanks will handle a range of feedstocks and finished SAF products, forming the backbone of the site’s storage and processing operations.
This development represents a significant milestone for Europe’s emerging SAF supply chain.
The Delfzijl plant is expected to become one of the continent’s key production hubs, and the installation of high‑specification storage infrastructure is essential to meeting both safety and efficiency requirements.
Gpi Tanks XL’s involvement underscores the growing demand for advanced, durable tank systems capable of supporting low‑carbon fuel production at scale.
The project also reflects broader momentum in the aviation sector as airlines and fuel suppliers accelerate efforts to reduce lifecycle emissions and expand access to commercially viable SAF.
