Stolt Tankers Becomes Green Award Incentive Provider
11.15.2023 By Tank Terminals - NEWS

November 15, 2023 [Stolt Nielsen]- Stolt Tankers’ inland service has been recognised for its commitment to sustainability by joining Green Award as an incentive provider.

The Green Award is a voluntary quality assessment certification scheme that inspects and certifies ships. Certification is awarded to ships that go above and beyond the industry standards in terms of safety, quality and environmental performance.

As of November 1, 2023 Stolt Tankers will reimburse 100% of the cost of the Green Award Certificate to owners of inland tankers sailing under contract with them. This certification is a great opportunity for ship owners to demonstrate their own commitment to sustainability as the maritime industry moves towards a greener future.

Maickel Uijtewaal, General Manager, Stolt Tankers, said: “Sustainability is an integral part of our strategy. We are committed to investing in practices that improve processes and achieve results.”

Jan Fransen, Director of Green Award, is pleased with the partnership: “When the world’s largest operator of chemical tankers takes such a decision, it fills us with appropriate pride. It confirms that we are on the right track with our inspire-inspect-certify-reward formula. We now have ten of Stolt Tankers’ inland tankers with an Inland Shipping Green Award certificate and hope to add more in the future. Hopefully also in seagoing shipping!”
