May 19, 2026 [Reuters]- Russia’s Ryazan oil refinery, which accounts for almost 5% of the country’s total refining volumes, stopped processing after a Ukrainian drone attack last Friday, two industry sources said on Tuesday.
Local authorities have said that Ukrainian drones killed four people, including a child, in the central Russian city of Ryazan on Friday, damaging high-rise apartment buildings and hitting an unnamed industrial enterprise.
The Ryazan region is southeast of Moscow. Its most southerly frontier is 220 miles (354 km) from the Ukrainian border.
Rosneft, which owns the refinery, did not reply to a request for comment.
Industry sources said the refinery processed 13.1 million metric tons of crude oil in 2024 and produced 2.2 million tons of gasoline, 3.4 million tons of diesel and 4.3 million tons of fuel oil.
