April 22, 2013 [Port News] - Oil product terminal of Rosneftbunker OJSC in Ust-Luga commercial seaport has commenced test operations with light oil products.

According to the company’s press release, on April 18, 2013 the terminal accepted the first train – 3,800 tonnes of diesel fuel in 63 tank wagons from Kirishinefteorgsintez.

According to Konstantin Khamlai, Director General of Rosneftbunker, the train with light oil products was accepted in compliance with earlier announced plans.

“In late December of 2012, the construction of the third phase facilities entered its closing stage with the parallel launch of local start-up operations. Today we have commenced comprehensive functional testing of the terminal’s systems for acceptance and storing of light oil products. As we forecast, this work may take some 3 months.

By late April we expect to accept a batch of 20,000 tonnes of diesel fuel from Kirishinefteorgsintez. Total plan for light oil products is at least 4 mln t in 2013. The first tanker loading is scheduled for May 2013,” Konstantin Khamlai said.

Rosneftbunker OJSC is the owner and operator of oil product terminal in the port of Ust-Luga. The terminal’s design capacity is 30 mln t per year (20 mln t of dark oil products and 10 mln t of light oil products).

The fully developed light oil product tank farm will comprise 11 reservoirs with total capacity of 330,000 cubic meters. Two berths can be used for transshipment of light oil products to tankers with deadweight of up to 166,000 tonnes.
