November 11, 2022 [Haiti News] – National Police of Haiti (PNH) began to facilitate fuel loading and delivery operations at the Varreux oil terminal. Thanks to the new armored vehicles ordered by the Haitian State and which have reinforced the operational capacity of specialized units such as SWAT, the Temporary Anti-Gang Unit (UTAG), the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO), the Corps of Intervention and Maintenance of Order (CIMO) and the Brigade of Operation and Departmental Intervention (BOID) and allowed to regain control of the terminal”
“Despite the fact that we have armoured vehicles that were damaged in the operations and all sorts of false rumours, this will not prevent the Police from continuing to consolidate their presence in the Varreux perimeter to prevent bandits from regaining control of this strategic space,” said the PNH.
The heavy unit of the PNH, the technicians of the Ministry of Public Works with the support of the civil engineering soldiers of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H) have, since the beginning of this week, started clearing and rehabilitation of road access to the oil terminal.
The police are asking for the public’s support to provide them with information that can help stop all the armed bandits who abduct people, dig holes and block roads to prevent schools and businesses from functioning properly.
Should be noted that the police completely destroyed the tractor that the bandits were using to dig holes in the roads and that the operator driving it died in the exchange of fire with the forces of order.
