Port of Singapore Throughput Up 3% to 593.3 M t in 2016

January 12, 2017 [PortNews IAA] - Cargo volumes handled at the Port of Singapore in January-December 2016 climbed by 3%, year-on-year, to 593.3 mln t, the Port Authority statistics show.


The volume of oil cargo climbed by 13% to 221.4 mln t, dry bulk cargo – by 1% to 186.22 mln t.

The port’s container throughput was almost flat at 30.9 mln TEUs. 

Singapore is the city-state located on an island in the South-East Asia. In 2015, container traffic at Port of Singapore reached 30.92 TEUs, total cargo throughput was 575 million tonnes.
