Polish Pipeline Operator Offers Firm Capacity to Transport Gas to Ukraine in 2025
12.09.2024 By Tank Terminals - NEWS

December 09, 2024 [Gas Processing & LNG]- Polish gas pipeline operator Gaz-System will offer firm capacity to export gas from Poland to Ukraine between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30 next year, the company said on Friday.

So far, the company has been offering interruptible capacity for cross-border shipments of gas from Poland to Ukraine. Offering continuous transmission services will boost energy security in the region, Gaz-System said.

“Network users using the Poland-Ukraine gas connection will have stable gas supplies for the needs of their customers in Ukraine,” company chief executive Slawomir Hinc was quoted as saying in a statement.

Ukraine has been preparing for the end of the year when the current deal enabling Russian gas transit across Ukraine to central European countries is due to expire. Kyiv has repeatedly said it has no intention of extending it.
