PetroChina Shanxi to Bring Oil Product Terminal into Operation in July

May 16, 2011 [C1 Energy] - PetroChina Shanxi is scheduled to put a 100,000-cu-m oil product terminal into operation in Jinzhong City of North China's Shanxi Province this July, according to a company source.

The Gangsheng terminal will support PetroChina’s oil product supply to Jinzhong and some nearby cities including the capital city of Taiyuan, the source deemed.

“We have to halt wholesale business and release inventory recently, because many buyers are yet to pick up their resources,” said the source.

PetroChina Shanxi has three oil product terminals in Jinzhong at present, with storage capacities totaling 50,000-60,000 m3.

The company started to expand Gangsheng terminal in 2010, original storage capacity of which is 18,400 m3.

Capacity of Gangsheng terminal could be enlarged up to 150,000 m3, with yearly turnover capacity hitting 1-mil mt.

Shanxi, which has neither oil fields nor refineries, is easier to suffer from oil product supply tightness.
