June 11, 2024 [Chem Analyst]- Petrobras, in continuation of its announcement on April 17, 2024, declares that its Executive Board has sanctioned the recommencement of operations at the fertilizer plant Araucária Nitrogenados S.A. (ANSA) on June 6, 2024. ANSA, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company situated in Paraná state, has remained inactive since 2020.
Immediate commencement of all necessary procedures for the plant’s reopening will be undertaken, encompassing the issuance of notices for the procurement of maintenance services and essential materials. Concurrently, Petrobras grants authorization to ANSA to engage in negotiations to rehire its previous employees, contingent upon approval by the Superior Labor Court (TST). The relaunch of operations is anticipated in the latter part of 2025.
Following the assessment of the company’s strategic directives sanctioned last year, Petrobras has reintegrated investment in fertilizer production into its portfolio, as outlined in the 2024-2028+ Strategic Plan.
Adjacent to the Presidente Getúlio Vargas Refinery – REPAR, ANSA boasts a production capacity of 720,000 tons/year for urea, 475,000 tons/year for ammonia, and 450,000 m³/year of Automotive Liquid Reducing Agent (ARLA 32).
