Oxagon Signs Land Lease for Green Hydrogen and Industrial Gas Plant in Neom

November 26, 2025 [H2 View]- Neom’s city of Oxagon has signed a land lease agreement with a Saudi industrial gas firm to develop a green gases plant that will produce hydrogen, oxygen, argon, and nitrogen.

Abdullah Hashim Industrial Gases & Equipment Co. (AHG) plans to build the gas production and distribution facility in Oxagon’s industrial quarter, and eyes starting early operations in late 2026.

The phased development will see ground broken in February next year, with subsequent phases due to start in 2028.

AHG has not announced the plant’s planned capacity or output.

It comes as Neom anticipates growing industrial gas demand from future manufacturing bases that will be set up within the futuristic industrial city.

The pair say the plant will reduce reliance on long-distance gas imports, minimise supply chain disruptions, and cut emissions from transport.

“Our partnership with AHG exemplifies Oxagon’s readiness to welcome world-class tenants and accelerate the Kingdom’s transition to a diversified, future-ready economy,” said Oxagon CEO Vishal Wanchoo.

Khalid Abdullah Hashim, CEO of AHG, added, “We are excited to be part of Oxagon’s development plan and are keen to play our role in supporting the industrial gases requirements of international and local investors with cost-competitive, high-reliability products and services.”

Oxagon is also home to the currently under-construction 2.2GW Neom Green Hydrogen plant, which is due to begin producing green ammonia in 2027.

However, the project will be exporting fuels from the site rather than meeting local demand.
