October 01, 2018 [Africa & Oil Power] - The National Oil Infrastructure Company of Zimbabwe (NOIC) is in the process of completing three major fuel storage projects in Harare.
The NOIC aims to finish the construction on the two $6 million ethanol storage tanks by December 2018, which have a 6 million litre capacity respectively, and will be built at the Mabvuku Depot in Harare.
This will comply with government’s mandatory increase in the blending ratio of unleaded petrol from 15 percent ethanol to 20 percent, with immediate effect.
Another major project the NOIC is developing is the construction of an $8 million, 2 000 ton liquefied petroleum gas handling depot in Ruwa.
Phase 1, of which is due for completion in December 2019, will establish 500 tons storage capacity. Additionally, the NOIC will also develop a $9,3 million storage and handling facility for jet A1 fuel at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport.
The NOIC is funding all three projects.
