Oiltanking carve-out focused on growth in chemicals, gases and new energies to take a frontrunner role in transforming the energy storage industry, through strategic partnerships and by putting ESG at the heart of everything it does.

 

Rotterdam, May 5, 2022: Advario, a leading global partner in liquid storage logistics, today launched its new company name and brand. Advariois committed totaking on a frontrunner role, together with its partners, in the energy transition by ensuring safe and reliable storage infrastructure for sustainable liquids.

The storage industry has a key role to play to progress the energy transition and partner with other players along the value chain to ensure undisrupted, secure access to low carbon energy everywhere in the world. Advario’s strategy is focused on growing its business across three segments:chemicals, gas and increasingly,new energies.

Starting with a global network of 13 strategically located terminals, in China, Europe, Middle East,Singaporeand the United States,Advarioaims to double its business by the end of the decade. Its strong commitment to sustainability will support customers and partners in reducing their carbon footprint, whilst materially growing the share of sustainable revenues. At launch, Advario has announced to commit to achieving net zero operations by 2040, latest.

About Bas Verkooijen

Bas Verkooijen has 25 years’ experience in the Energy industry. Prior to joining Advario, Bas worked at OMV. In his role as the Senior Vice President Product Supply & Sales and member of the OMV Downstream leadership team, he was responsible for the group’s supply, logistics and commercial sales of refined products as well as petrochemicals. Bas started his career at Shell where he led various downstream businesses in Europe, Russia, Middle East, Asia and Oceania. Bas holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.
