New Chemical Jetty Open to Foreign Ships in Changzhou Port

January 18, 2013 [China Chemical Industry News] - The Municipal Government of Jiangsu Province has approved opening of the chemical jetties in Lu'anzhou Port Area of Changzhou Port to foreign ships. The jetties' completion and opening will further improve utilization of Changzhou Port, and will reduce logistic costs for chemical enterprises around Changzhou areaand promote the integrated development of Changzhou chemical and new material industry aound the port area.


The Municipal Government of Jiangsu Province has approved opening of the chemical jetties in Lu’anzhou Port Area of Changzhou Port to foreign ships. The jetties’ completion and opening will further improve utilization of Changzhou Port, and will reduce logistic costs for chemical enterprises around Changzhou area and promote the integrated development of Changzhou chemical and new material industry aound the port area.

Changzhou Lu’anzhou chemical jetties are jointly invested and owned by Huarun Goup and Changzhou High-technology Industry Zone Development Group. The project includes 2 jetties of 50kt DWT in mainstream of the Yangzte River, 2 thousand-ton-level jetties in the branch river, a branch river crossing bridge for pipelines, and 700,000 cbm storage tanks for liquid chemicals with designed throughput capacity of 4.8million tons per annum. The total investment is estimated 1.25billion Yuan.Construction is divided into three phases. Phase 1 was completed on July 6th 2012, inclusive of the jetties, pipeline bridge and 170,000 cbm tanks. Completition acceptance was carried out on Nov. 30th and opening was approved at provincial level on Dec. 24th. 88,000 tons of liquid chemicals were handled during pilot running.
