June 19, 2023 [Hyde]- In conjunction with the Nigerian Air Force Investments Limited (NAFIL), we recently commissioned our Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) facility at NAF Base, Makurdi, Benue State in our drive to expand our operations.

As the first of its kind, the NAFIL- HydeGas LPG Facility will provide the Nigerian Air Force base and its environs with reliable and sustainable energy and increase LPG use in homes instead of charcoal and kerosene. A move that will significantly offer environmental benefits and support Nigeria’s Decade of Gas policy.

With a capacity of 40 MT, it is expected to create job opportunities and boost the economy of the State while contributing to the country’s Human Development Index.

Speaking at the official commissioning, our Chief Executive of Hyde Energy, Oladimeji Edwards said, “We are proud to partner with the Nigerian Air Force to bring this important project to completion. This facility is a symbol of our commitment to a more secure and sustainable future. We are bringing tangible benefits to domestic and business LPG users, the Nigerian economy, and the environment at large. From developing storage terminals to establishing LPG hubs across Nigeria, our strategy focuses on delivering LPGs to homes and other end users safely and efficiently.”

In his address, the MD, NAFIL, Air Vice Marshal Al Adamu stated that the rationale behind the project was to ease the problem of unavailability of cooking gas for the residents of the base.

The Chief of Air Staff of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, who was represented by the Chief of Administration, Air Vice Marshal Nelson Ebieteli Calmday, during the ribbon-cutting ceremony highlighted the significance of the NAFIL-Hyde Energy LPG Facility and commended Hyde Energy for the initiative “. This is a good project for the Nigerian Air Force Makurdi and for the community, and I am glad to witness the commissioning of the NAFIL-Hyde Energy LPG Facility.”

According to him, the commissioning of the project will enhance personnel motivation and welfare which is a priority of the Chief of The Air Staff. He further stated that “Security and safety is our top priority as a security organization, and we will ensure that this will be adhered to. We are confident that the LPG facility will be a valuable asset to the Nigerian Air Force community and will help enhance a cleaner environment.”
