Malta Looks to Lease Gasoil Storage Tanks
06.01.2015 - NEWS

June 1, 2015 [OPIS] - Enemalta, the state-owned utility of Malta, is looking to lease five storage tanks in the Mediterranean for six months.

The five tanks are at Has Saptan in Malta, and are to be used for storing 1,000ppm sulfur gasoil.

Capacity of the tanks vary: 15,900 cubic meters (cbm), 17,630 cbm, 15,875 cbm, 17,650 cbm and 17,700 cbm.

The tanks can be loaded or unloaded from a berth at Marsaxlokk dolphin and a berth at Laboratory Wharf.

Barges berthed at Ras Hanzir dolphin can also be loaded from the tanks.

The tanks share a common pipeline up to the vessel berths, and so only one operator can be considered for the tender.

The tender is for six months from July 1 to Dec. 31, although this may be extended for the whole of 2016.

The tender closes on June 12.
