October 22, 2025 [Hydrocarbon Processing]- Lotte Chemical Titan Holding Berhad (LCTH) has launched commercial operations at its Lotte Chemical Indonesia New Ethylene (LINE) Project, a major step in expanding its petrochemical footprint in Southeast Asia. The project, located in Merak, Cilegon, Banten Province, Indonesia, officially began operations on October 15, 2025, according to a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

Developed through subsidiary PT Lotte Chemical Indonesia, the $3.95-B complex features an annual production capacity of 1 million tonnes of ethylene and 520,000 tonnes of propylene, positioning it as one of the region’s largest integrated petrochemical facilities. The project is a joint venture between Lotte Chemical Titan (51%), its parent Lotte Chemical Corporation (24%), and other Lotte Group affiliates.

LCTH emphasized that the LINE Project strengthens the group’s ability to meet Southeast Asia’s rising demand for petrochemical feedstocks while improving production efficiency and cost competitiveness. It also deepens the company’s integration across Malaysia, Indonesia, and South Korea, reinforcing Lotte’s regional value chain and long-term growth strategy.
